Only an estimated 4 percent of the population is born with red hair (only 2% in the U.S.), due to the recessive nature of the gene that produces it. That gene, the melanocortin 1 receptor, was discovered on the 16th of the 23 human chromosome pairs in 1995 by Jonathan Rees, a professor at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Get in on the inside joke with this witty tee! Baby doll shirts are available in black with white text and the words "got melanocortin 1?" spanning the front chest. The tee shirts are blank on the back.
Slim Fit Women's Tees (otherwise known as baby dolls), are lightweight and not very stretchy, so choose your size carefully.
Warning: These tee shirts are SMALL! The baby doll tee in size large is physically smaller than a regular unisex tee in size small (the babydoll is about 4" narrower), and are shorter, too. Photo of how these tees fit here.
We recommend that you look at the width measurements below before ordering to prevent having to exchange it later. If you are unsure, call us at 1-866-492-GEAR.
Sizing Information: (width x length)
The width was calculated from measuring from one side to the other just under the sleeves (sleeve width was not counted). Length is the full length of the shirt-- from the top of the back collar to the bottom hem. You can measure one of your favorite-fitting tees in this manner and find out which size is most closely related.
S = 15 x 19.75
