Self-Description: Well, the temper has gone done by about 300-fold since I was younger.
However I tend to get a little too fiesty when playing sports or being in
guy-type competitive events. I was a pretty bad kid growing up and spent a lot
of time in my room where I had nothing but a computer. So look at me now, I
have 8 computers in my apartment, I have 3 computer-related jobs and I am going
to school for Electrical Engineering (the parents' "its for your own good" line
is starting to sound like maybe it wasn't all b.s.). My hair varies between a
dark auburn and a medium orange depending on how much sunlight I get (Hahah I
get naturally what some people get $60 highlights to try to imitate).
I'm a pretty weird person to figure out. All I've established is that I am
sometimes more mature than people my age, other times I act like I'm in middle
school, and you can never tell when I'm going to be spontaneous (I'm
spontaneiously spontaneous I guess). I'm a big geek (like normal people don't
have 8 computers in their place of residence) and I can't ever get enough of
learning or knowledge.
I'm at the University of Iowa studying Electrical Engineering and I have 2 jobs.
For one job I do web development, web programming, database programming, and
application programming (I'm 4 programmers wrapped into one and since I'm a
student I make 4 times less too). My other job is data analysis for a doctor of
cardiac electrophysiology doing research on ARIs (activation recovery intervals)
I always wanted to uses my geekiness to do something good for the world, so I
love that job, it just pays even less than my other one.
As you can guess, I work hard, but in the College of Engineering here we have a
"Work Hard, Party Harder" attitude. So on the occassions that I do go out, it
gets pretty wild.
Interests: -I'm a snowboarding junkie
-I run every other day
-When not running out on the country roads, I like going on drives out to the middle of nowhere
-I'm gearhead with no money, so I have this habit of totally tearing apart and rebuilding the few vehicles I have access to atleast once a month
-I write software in my spare time for 3D modeling, network analysis, scientific applications
-I freely consult on CodeAnimal(www.askasp.com)
-I want to have art skills, so I've been playing with design
