Self-Description: I'm a motivated and education-minded can-do person who is daily
trying to accomplish large tasks in spite of 4 children constantly
throwing wrenches into the wheels! My children take up the bulk of my
time, but I sometimes manage to make time for reading mystery novels,
taking walks, gardening, playing the piano, and singing in a symphonic
choir. I have a secret desire to pack up and move to California so that
I could be in the outdoors to walk or bike or garden all year round. I
detest winter and every year think I will never survive February.
My
college degree was in Communications, with French and English minors,
however I will be taking a Chemistry class at a local university this
fall in order to get a B.S. in science. If I could have done it all
differently, I would have pursued medicine, so now I am taking the slow
and difficult route to the sciences! I am a much more tolerant person
than I was before the children were born, but still struggle daily with
relaxing under all the mess and chaos. I would love to have a live-in
chauffer/housekeeper! I do love to cook and we enjoy fairly regular
ethnic or meatless meals. My husband loves it all and is very
appreciative of creativity in the kitchen. He does the grocery shopping
and brings back unusual items that he hopes I'll create unique dishes
out of.
Nine years ago I started a playgroup in my neighborhood and
it's still going strong. Meeting with those friends on a regular basis,
as well as with moms of my children's classmates for dinner or coffee,
has helped keep me connected and involved.
